2nd light battalion, Brunswick

2nd light battalion, brunswick

The mighty Veterans

The mighty veterans

I finished a unit of hannibal's veterans. the minis are from xyston, and i really enjoyed painting them. they're easy to paint, so i took some time to paint the shields. too often we see those men with white shields, so i chose a completely different approach, with red shields. up and down i painted white palm trees. j'ai terminé une unité de vé
Brunswick - Leibgarde

Brunswick - leibgarde

Brunswick units are really painted fast. i finished 2 batallions and based them: the 2nd line and the leibgarde. about the later, there is something worth noticing in 1815: the unit had left its flag in the depots, so no flag bearer for them on ths base, since we're in waterloo. quand je vous dis que le brunswick se peint vite. je viens de terminer

110011- wow

While drinking my morning's coffe, i browsed through my stats, and i saw yhis number: 110011 page views! though an odd number, i thank you all for coming here reading my poor english. here is what i promise you: meore romans and carthaginians are coming. and prepare yourself for the reading of many aar because i entered a campaign in the mediterran
Back to work!

Back to work!

The holidays are over and it's really hard getting back to work at the highschool. the kids think they're already in summer and act accordingly. we teachers are already exhausted, and my child's cold doesn't improve the situation. anyway, i painted a lot of minis this past month, as you can see below. moreover, i had sworn to post 100 messages with
1st / 3rd Brunswick battalions

1st / 3rd brunswick battalions

Time to evolve

Though i like the storage capacity of canalblog (5gb), i'm tired of the too many maintenance problems which block the access to the blog. so i've decided to move on, and create a new blog on blogspot. here is my new adress. just to keep you updated: http://backtotheminis.blogspot.com/ bien que j'apprécie énormément la capacité de stockage de ca
Flags in the wind!

Flags in the wind!

At last, i delivered the first part of my painting commission. my friend was more than happy to get his first british units. since i added the foliage and the flags, i took some pictures to show you this first part of a great army. voilà. la première partie de la commande peinture a été livrée. je pense que mon commanditaire était content de
Auxiliaries

Auxiliaries

After a "long" period of 1st empire painting, i'm back for a while to antiquity. i think i may be a bit fed up with the brits, so i'll paint some more romans and carthaginians. and yesterday, i prepared the auxilary archers, and finished half of them. the minis are from corvus belli, and i did a simple and fast paint job. nothing fancy, but i tried
Batterie Stievenart

Batterie stievenart

After the brunswick, i'm now going to belgium, with the stievenart battery. at first, they had 8 guns (6 guns and 2 howitzers), but they lost 6 of them at quatre-bras. anyway, they were fast and easy to paint. je change de nationalité pour passer du côté de la belgique. voici la batterie stievenart. composée de 8 pièces à l'origine (6 canons
